Contemporary Polish poetry for children
2021
This article mainly deals with the history of the contemporary Polish poetry for children (end of XX century — beginning of XXI). The author shows how contemporary children’s poetry is linked with the traditional one (and also some folklore forms), characterizes the creative styles of several contemporary poets (J. Twardowski, Z. Beszczyńska, J. Kulmowa, W. Oszajca), and points out several breaks from the tradition. Miron wśród prądów epoki
2017
The book by Marta Barańska, Twórczość Aleksandra Michaux (Mirona) wobec prądów ideowych i artystycznych XIX wieku (The work of Aleksander Michaux (Miron) against the ideological and artistic trends of the nineteenth century, Poznań 2016), is the first monograph of the “cursed poet” of the Positivist era, usually labeled a post-epigenetic epigone. The author revives the view of this work, presenting various lesser-known pieces by Miron (ballads, poems, dramas, prose sketches, publicistic texts) and embedding them in a wide intertextual space. The achivements of this second-grade, long-neglected poet acquire the value of modernity, seen as a collection of motifs, topos and themes, referring t…
Od krytyki do czytelnictwa. Juliana Korhausera działalność krytycznoliteracka w pierwszej dekadzie XXI wieku
2015
The article is an attempt to recognize Julian Kornhauser’s critical idiom in the first decade of 21st century. The author takes steps to inscribe the critical project of The Inner World author into the congenial paradigm of the French thematic school (borders of empathy and identification, fascination and understanding, authenticity), and to pinpoint the basic ideas that Kornhauser’s critical thought circulates around (the issue of authenticity and identity of a poem persona and a critic).
O wierszach (nie tylko) dla dzieci Juliana Kornhausera
2018
The article is based on a synthetic description of this part of Julian Komhauser’s oeuvre, in which the figure of a child appears. Thus, it focuses on the interpretation of a selection of the poet’s texts that are addressed to children exclusively. A significant part is therefore devoted to considerations on the poems that are situated in the borderland between literature for children and texts for adults. The major synthetic aim of the article is an attempt to divide Kornhauser’s “children’s poems” into two main categories: carnivalesque, as well as reflexive and symbolic ones.
